I will be changing 5 switches within the MDF of one among our buildings. The previous switches are all 24-port with enlargement modules within the again as a result of that was all that was obtainable (for an affordable worth) on the time. The previous cabling config was completed ad-hoc through the years and has clearly was a multitude.

with that being stated, I will not be making the brand new switches a 1-to-1 or port-to-port substitute. I am taking the chance to scrub issues up and have all of it make sense. I made a spreadsheet of the place I need every connection from the previous switches to be within the new atmosphere and I’m going to need to label every cable.

There’s plenty of cables, so I do not care to do all of it in someday proper earlier than the cutover. So I am afraid that post-it adhesive is not sturdy sufficient and would simply fall off over time if I labelled forward of time. I’ve used scotch tape up to now however just for like single 24-port jobs or emergencies – I do not take care of utilizing that trigger it is so cumbersome.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

TL:DR – Does anybody know of a very good product to make use of to label ethernet cables plugged right into a swap that has adhesive sturdy sufficient to final a number of days/weeks, however shouldn’t be a PITA to take away?
